Secret Amy Winehouse Album of the Day: A new album of previously unreleased material by Amy Winehouse, the troubled singer who died tragically this past summer, will be released in December.
Called Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures (cover art above), the collection includes a song about her cheating ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil and another that finds the singer under the influence of heroin.
Over the past few weeks, producers Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson, who both worked with the singer before her death, have been pulling the album together out of thousands of hours of unheard material.

The album will also include songs Winehouse recorded with Tony Bennett and Nas, as well as original version of tracks found on her Back to Black album.
One of the most notable songs on the record is her version of A Song For You, written by Leon Russell and made famous by her favorite artist Donny Hathaway. Winehouse plays guitar on the song that was recorded in her home in 2009 as she battled her addiction to drugs.
Her father Mitch Winehouse told The Sun after listening to the album: “I never realised what a true genius she was.”
He added:
It wasn’t until I sat down with the rest of the family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of her talent. From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it took my breath away.
The album will be released on December 5th, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation for children’s charities.
