Divorce Statements of the Day: Now that Kim Kardashian’s divorce filing has become public, new statements from the couple are showing just how messy this split could become.
Earlier today Kardashian released this statement to E! News:
After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.
Now it’s Kris Humphries turn. The NBA baller, who doesn’t believe in divorce, apparently didn’t know his wife was filing until this morning.
He told TMZ:
I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce … I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.
Humphries is supposedly telling friends that he and Kardashian had discussed the possibility of divorce, but he thought the two could still work it out.
